A long 24 hours

Ever try watching an important game involving your favorite team while you have the stomach flu? Oh boy, it's not fun.

I threw up 3 times during Friday's game vs. the White Sox. I was hoping that's the price I had to pay for a big win, but the Tribe blew it again and lost in the 13th.

After a sleepness night, I caught the end of the game on the computer to see that they lost again today 4-3. So, in the last 6 games, the Tribe has outscored their opponents 19-18, and yet are 1-5 in those games. 5 1-run losses.

Can those losses be more devastating? Yes, yes, there still is a chance, but really -who expect the Yanks (after clinching the East) to play hard tomorrow?

How can this team fail to execute with a man on 3rd and less and 2 out time and time again this week. 5 times over the past week were we in this situation - and came away with nothing.

I can't talk about this anymore. Baseball is now over.

It seems like the Tribe hasn't recovered from that game that they blew when Sizemore(?) dropped the flyball in KC. After that, it looked (from an outsiders view) that they really started realizing where they were in the playoffs and after that realization tightened up big time. They were playing fast and loose and winning a bunch of games while the White Sox were stuck in the mud. Then all of a sudden everything just kind of reversed and here we are 1 game back with 1 to go.

I totally disagree with you about the NYY not playing hard. Joe Torre said before the series he is going to do whatever it takes to make sure that the Sox don't make the playoffs. Now I don't think he will pitch Rivera 3 innings, but I am sure he will pitch 1+ today if the situation warrants it. I'd be totally shocked if his regular lineup isn't in there.
