One of my BIG pet peeves

I got a kick out of this story. This is one of my pet peeves in life - if you can't use decimal points, you deserve what's coming to you, and it's not the reader's fault that you are dumb at math.

Tiny Typo, big effect on ballot

I've always wanted to go into stores that has an ad outside for ".99c cheeseburgers", flip them a penny, and then say "keep the change!"

(by the way, where the hell is the cent symbol on the keyboard?)

fun little way to screw programs out of their money.

i'm a little disappointed that i haven't seen any official reaction to the rush limbaugh vs. michael shakes fox stories earlier this week. i thought this blog had some political nuts?

and by the way...if you ever find the cent symbol, i'd love to know where it is. i spend about 10 minutes every now and then trying to find it (i haven't even found it in the symbols section.) screw microsoft. macs has the cent in a very intuitive place....cntl 4.

Am I a bad person because the stem cell issue doesn't interest me? It just doesn't capture me as a political issue compared to taxes, online gambling, and illegal immigration.

I can see both sides of the issue and it is a very complex and personal one. Any arguing here certainly is not going to change minds - you can't really argue "facts" here, since beliefs and moral values intersect cold science.

Someone might take them to court because the ballot technically says 0.80 cents? Ummm ...it doesn't "technically" say it, it actually says it.

Wake up people.

Well, it doesn't say "0.80 cents", it says ".80 cents".

So does a $1 pack of cigs cost $1.008 or $1.80?

A stupid liberal arts major must have written the initiative...

I've been out for the past week, but I'm for stem cell research. I was so happy that CA stepped up and passed the $1 billion prop for funding. Not only is this the right thing to do, it was a smart move for the CA economy. What is there to debate? MJF didn't take his meds and Rush called him on it. Who cares. MJF was smart to do it in front of congress and Rush was smart to call him out on it.

And this is a science vs. religion issue so the debate will be very ugly.
