DVD Burners
Anyone have any thoughts on what DVD burner to buy? We're having a kid soon, so we just bought a camcorder and will be looking to burn the tapes to DVD. It has to be external to hook up with my laptop, but that's about the only requirement. I was thinking about this Plextor, as cnet seems to like it, but I'm open to ideas. Jay? Brad? Anyone else?

The only DVD burner I've really used is the Sony one I have at home, but that's not really going to help you because it's an internal drive so you wouldn't be able to hook it up to the laptop. Plextor has a reasonably good name as far as CD/DVD drives go and it looks like the one you linked to should be pretty good.
Let me ask you this. If I Tivo stuff, can I buy one of these burners to burn everything to a CD?
