Eric, thanks for the post. Really close, tough series between two teams that were pretty evenly matched all year.

i don't know what's worse....

the deflated congrats post. or the lack of sack reply that fails to rub it in elderzahn's face.

on one hand, you can feel the pain in eric's words. on the other, you can see that 'zilla just wants to gloat.

i have to tell you that it was my cedar point client that gooched this for the tribe. with this series at 2-1, he started asking if we could get tickets to the world series. idiot.

Its taken me about 24 hours and I'm just about over it.

Congrats to Jay and Laura on the BoSox victory. I mean that from the heart (as I'm sure Eric does as well). He and I can only dream of what we are missing (although I am looking forward to a regular sleep pattern this week).

As for the ticket gooch, please. Confession time - I had two tickets for Game 2 of the WS. BEFORE YOU FLAME here is the deal, at least for the Tribe. To get tickets for ANY of the playoffs you had to enter the lottery and purchase BEFORE the previous round had finished. You can argue that the organization gooched itself, but not the individual fan. I also had 8 tickets for Game 5 of the ALCS, which according to the gooch theory, the BoSox should have swept in 4 (not really sure if that would have been less painful).

At the end of the day, our strength all season, pitching, and specifically starting pitching, let us down. Wow, it was just horrific.

I don't want to gloat. There is no need. The two teams were evenly matched. If they lost to the Indians, they would have deserved the win. Those two teams were the best all year, separated by one game.

Now, if the Sox beat the Yankees - of course I'd be gloating!!!!
