I couldn't figure out what the heck happened at first either, but it shows how much the Pats wanted to "win" this game. Basically the story is that Flutie has been drop kicking a little after practice his whole career (starting at BC). He and Belicheck started talking about a way to put it in the game plan "when the situation presented itself" (BB words). I guess this meaningless game was the right time. A lot was made of the fact that that kick will likely be the last play in Flutie's career AND it was last done in 1941, the year BB's dad played in the NFL. Perhaps a little tribute to dad and a way for Flutie to have a nice footnote to his career.

Apparently the O-lineman were telling the Miami d-line to "watch this! watch this...", everyone on defense was just confused. He dropped it perfectly and then split the uprights. The paper said he made them about 80% in practice.

When BB is playing the sentimental card, cheering and high fiving when they are trailing in a game - that tells you how badly they wanted Jacksonville.

That pass on the 2 point conversion was pretty awful.
