World Cup Draft Results & Teams

Here are the picks for the World Cup Pool, which starts in 30 minutes. Again, you get 2 points for every win your team gets, 1 point for a tie (in pool play), and 2 points for every win in the knockout round.

Quick analysis:

Best draft: I like Ted's roster. And RRD, for being absent, did pretty well.

Worst draft: There's just a bit of favoritsm in Roger/Dmitri's roster. England 2nd???

Most likely to have 3 teams advance: Ted and Brad

Most likely to have 0 teams advance: Don (you got the equivalent of Tennessee and Cincinnati with those picks).

Not going to give anything away in the POL v. ECU game, but the announcers are fantastic! Who are they? Hope they do more games as the WC progresses.

If you are serious, and are talking about the ESPN announcers, the color guy is Tommy Smyth.

And I hear - true story! - that they are announcing games from the ESPN Studios in Bristol. They get the European feed and announce the game in a booth in Connecticut.

You can talk about the games on the blog. My employee Ted does not know about the address.

"The Poles keep hitting the poles."

I wouldn't be surprised if Leland actually took 'Argentia' with his first pick, after wrestling with choosing 'Bolivian'.

I didn't realize this until this morning while watching a very boring England match, but I believe that we should give 3 points for a win since that is what they hand out in the WC. Any thoughts?

Good Call on Don's 0 teams to advance.
