They've accurately portrayed their expected clientèle.
Everyone hold on here. Let's look at this for a second. Are young voters going to vote no for a casino? Um...no. They will get energized in a heartbeat. So who will be against it? The older folks that go to church. And who better to tell them that everything will be OK.
And let's not forget that this show was put into syndication. And shows just don't go into syndication without any viewers. People watched her and liked her show. So I'm sure some marketing guys have some numbers that show that the people over 45 years old watched this show in Ohio. Right Currier? Or are ad guys just this dumb.
sorry for the late reply...i tried responding while in charlotte last week on a shoot and realized that blogger isn't so smart phone friendly.
as an ad guy, i was hoping to provide some insight on the mindset. but little z nailed the strategy behind the choice. although i'm sure that the marketing pros making this decision suffers from a case of what we call "this client is fucked in the head" and lucked into executing on that strategy.
it is a rather poor choice. there are so many other things that could be done than using a heart throb from the 80s (if you're the type of the guy that's into denture-less blow jobs) to peddle your position.
oh...and yes...some of us are just that dumb. i mean, have you looked at my avatar?
