This makes no sense to me. Really. None.
I'm clearly not as insufferable as the Yankees/Red Sox fans in October. Am I?
Seriously, this makes no sense. Can some one explain this to me?

only thing I can think of is the name and the mascot/logo (Chief Wahoo). I think that does irk a lot of people. Not saying I agree with it, but it might be the answer.

Did you read the article? This is what you get when a journalism major looks at statistical data. The study does not determine the most hated team, it determines which fans are the most pessimistic about their team.
Image that, Cleveland fans expecting the worst. I would never have guessed.
